                                                                                   Driver Qualifications and Rules

 

1. Drivers must be 18 years old or older with a valid drivers license (or 16 with valid drivers license and legal guardian present and must

8.     No Ambulances, Four-wheel drives, Hearses, or Imperials, or Imperial sub frames. No AMC spirits.

9.     No trailer hitches. Old gas tanks must be removed.

10.     K-Frames may not be welded to frame or too the body. Must be bolted.

11.     If using #9 wire you may not use more than 4 loops per spot and may not use in more than 4 places inside of car.

12.     All cars must be stock unless otherwise stated in the rules.

13.     All glass chrome trim door handles etc. Must be removed also no glass in bottoms of doors.

14.     No sand bagging or double teaming.

15.     No stuffing plating or cementing any part of car(this includes filling foam)

16.     Open hood inspection for all classes.

17.     Tires may be no larger than 700-15 up to 8 ply forklift tires is ok as long as they aren't on drive wheels.

18.     All doors, trunk and hood may be chained, bolted or welded on exterior only. With no more than 3/16" thick by 4inch wide plate.

20.     Hood may be attached in no more than six places only Four to the frame anything else must be sheet metal to sheet metal, no larger than 1" ready rod with 4" max washer or 3/8" max chain or cable

22.     Dash bar and behind seat bar allowed 3 inch max diameter or square cannot be attached to frame only body. May have only 2 bars max behind seat in a crisscross pattern. Must be securely fastened or you will be told to remove.

23.     Battery and gas tank must be securely fastened in a safe location to the car no bungee cords.

24.     Gas tank must be in back seat area and cannot be next to battery. May use a boat gas tank or a properly made fuel cell no more than 6 gallons It must also be covered. No plastic tanks must be steel.

25.     Transmission coolers, Welded rear-end, Headers are allowed, info pipes out the hood must have at least a 12 inch hole over

Carburetor area in case of fire.

26.     A-arms may be bolted down with one 1 inch bolt max.

27.     REAR SUSPENSIONS MUST REMAIN STOCK (No altered wheelbase, truck rear ends or non factory leafed rear ends allowed)

28.     Frame seams may be welded top seam only from firewall forward only one bead and no extra steel may be added (compacts may not


weld their frames)

29.     Motor and Transmission of any make allowed may be chained 01' welded in place in stock location with no reinforcement to the frame.

30.     Numbers on the car must be on both doors clearly visible and a 12"X12" sign on the roof in a color that is clearly visible.

31.     You may weld bumpers to brackets and the brackets to the frame but no extra metal.

32.     Fuel injected vehicles must have a fuel pump shut off switch painted red in case of fire and placed in a visible location.

33.      May use unpressurized home made radiator (no larger than factory radiator placed in factory position with no frame or body reinforcement).

34.     Protest will be handled in a put up or shut up fashion with a with a driver submitted $100 cash protest fee (further inspection with any means necessary, 1 inch drill bit and scope), If you wish to have it done with a torch that person will be allowed to bring car back fully plated to their discretion, at the site of disassembly by the judge, if found to be legal.

35.     Must be in pits and registered at least one half hour before derby starts.

36.     Pits will open 8 am.

37.     Drivers meeting 15 minutes prior to derby start.

38.     For PRE-RAN cars only, you may place a plate on a bend 4"x4" by 1/8"thick, on plate per frame rail in the front, and one per frame

rail in the rear. You must leave a spot unwelded to show thickness of plate and must be able to prove or show bend.
